What is an uncontested divorce?
An uncontested divorce is a divorce proceeding where the parties have reached an agreement before they file about how the assets and liabilities will be divided and how the parenting plan and child support orders will be addressed. In an uncontested divorce proceeding, you are simply asking the Judge to rubberstamp your agreed settlement in the case. There is no argument before the Judge.

Is an uncontested divorce a valid divorce?
Yes, the order is submitted to the Judge at the end of the mandatory ninety waiting period and he signs off on the agreed settlement decree and all associated orders. The Clerk of the Court enters the Order in the record and you have valid order dissolving your marriage. It is enforceable in any state of the union.
Why should I do an uncontested divorce?
Peace of mind, time and money. Uncontested dissolutions keep the process quick and efficient. Most of all, it leaves you in charge or your destiny. You no longer need to worry about the Judge making decisions for you. Your children will thank you for keeping their life as stable as it can be and your pocketbook will thank you for not blowing all of your savings on attorney fees and costs.
